The Mermaid Bay Series
The idea for this series came to me years ago. I was sitting with writer friend, Cari Lynn Webb, at the Readers & Authors Get-Together conference. Also at the table were a few readers, now friends. Cari and I were talking about books we wanted to write. Cari, being sensible and the daughter of a nurse, spoke about wanting to write a series of medical romances. And me? I babbled about a fictitious place, Mermaid Bay, where local legend spoke of real mermaids and romances were short and sweet. The readers at our table encouraged us both to make our dream stories reality. I want to thank them and Cari for their support. It kept this idea alive.
It took me a few more years to find time to begin this series. But it’s off to a great start!
So, grab a cup of your most comforting beverage, settle into a comfy chair, and get ready for feel-good romances set in Mermaid Bay. But first, read the legend of Mermaid Bay HERE. Then get ready to embrace your inner mermaid!
Happy reading!

Book 1: Love & Lattes at the Mermaid Cafe (series prequel)
Fans of Hallmark movies set in small towns with quirky characters will enjoy this midlife, clean romantic comedy between a seaside coffee shop owner and the man who wants to buy her out and build a chain coffee shop in its place.
She's happy with her life as is.
A decade ago, recently divorced Lena Rhodes bought the abandoned Mermaid Cafe, fixed it up, and began a journey to build it into an institution on the pier in Mermaid Bay, Oregon. She likes to tell people she didn't save the Mermaid Cafe as much as it saved her. It's her baby. And the town of Mermaid Bay has become her found family. At forty, she's not going anywhere.
He needs to prove to his father that he's worthy.
Cade Delaney has been his father's right hand man for over twenty years. Now in his mid-forties, he's ready to take the reins. Only his father still wants proof that Cade can handle the business. If Cade can put together a big real estate deal to develop the beach boardwalk in Mermaid Bay, his father will finally retire and Cade can finally be his own man.
There are sparks from the moment they meet.
Sometimes your worst enemy turns out to be the person you didn't know you needed.
Note the temporary cover: This mid-life meet cute sets up many of the town businesses and is part of a promotion with 6 other authors writing romantic comedies with silver fox heroes. (Who says love ends at 40?) When the promotion ends, this romance will have a new cover.
