Woo-hoo!  I'm psyched to have completed a major rewrite of the single title book I wrote in 30 days last year.  It'll need a bit of polish and read thrus from my critique group, but then out it goes into the big world on a search for a publishing home.  It's almost the end of the year and I need to revisit my writing to-do list.

Read-read-read: I did just that.  In fact, I found that one house publishes authors with voices I really enjoy reading (in my mind - of course - I write similarly to them - Cool).

Review what's selling: OK, vampires are still hot, but I think romantic comedy is ready for a comeback.

Submissions: Although Harlequin Superromance and I are parting ways, I'm still waiting to hear from Blaze.  In the scheme of things, I wrote three new proposals for Superromance and two for Blaze, in addition to this 400+ page manuscript.  (patting myself on the back here)

Join a critique group: yep.  The Tiny Killer Bees are fun, insightful and - sometimes - painfully honest.  Add to that a monetary fine for not posting pages and I've kept right on schedule.

Opinions: Now that the rewrite is done and I'm down to fine tuning the manuscript, it's time to gather some more opinions from agents and editors.

All in all, "what does not kill me, makes me stronger" (which is a quote from Friedrich Nietzsche, now part of a Kanye West song - yes, we all liked Kanye better before he overstepped his bounds with Taylor Swift).  It's been a good year, full of challenges.  I'm looking forward to posting a new author to-do list at the end of the month!  Feel free to post yours here, too.
